Ten little lodge members, came to meetings all the time.
One fell out with the master, and then there were nine.
Nine
little lodge members, stayed up late.
One overslept and then there were eight.
Eight little
lodge members, on their way to heaven.
One took the low road, then there were seven.
Seven
little lodge members, all chirping like chicks.
One couldn't learn the ritual, then there were six.
Six
little lodge members, very much alive,
But one wanted to demit, then there were five.
Five
little lodge members, pulling for heaven's shore.
One tired and got disgruntled, then there were four.
Four
little lodge members, busy as can be,
But one got his feelings hurt, then there were three.
Three
little lodge members, and the story's almost done.
Two got disgusted, then there was one.
Now everybody knows that one can't do much, but one brought last month, and that makes two. Two lodge members, each won one more. Now don't you see, 2+2=4. Four lodge members worked early and late. Each brought one and now there are eight!
Have you got the message, pointed and true? Come on lodge members! You've got work to do! For you see, these eight lodge members, if they double as before, in just seven weeks, will have 1,024!
In this little jingle, there is a lesson true. You belong to one of the two. Either the building or the wrecking crew!
